Abstract

The purpose of this study to prove the method of reading PQRST influence on student learning outcomes on mathematics story material. Instrument in this research is test sheet. This research type is quantitative with Quasi Experiment method. The population in this study is the fourth semester students of Teacher Education Elementary School of Wijaya Kusuma University, Surabaya which consists of 2 classes. Selection of sample used as experiment class and control class was done by non-prabability sampling technique with saturated sampling technique and selected semester IV-A as experiment class and semester IV-B as control class. The results of this study obtained the average value of the experimental class treated with the method of reading PQRST 80.66, while the average value of the control class treated by conventional learning method 75.00. The analysis results of the Independent Samples T-test showed that the significant value was 0.008 <0.05. Meaning H0 rejected Ha accepted. So it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between giving treatment in the form of reading PQRST method to student learning outcomes on mathematics story test.
